Last time I paid attention to Ciara’s hair was during the Grammy Awards festivities. She had cornrows at a pre-Grammy party, and then wore a sleek, pulled-back look to the actual Grammy’s. But now she’s sporting this super long, curly hair. What do you guys think–is she just wearing her hair curly or is that a new weave?

You know I love bangs! Anne rocked this full fringe in ‘05 and a subtle side-swept look in ‘06.

Which texture best compliments Anne’s shoulder length bob? Wavy in ‘09 or straight that same year? Hmm. I kinda like them both.

I love a half-updo. Anne (looking so young!) wore this simple look in 2001, with bangs in ‘05, and with a pouf in ‘09. I say the pouf wins, hands down! Love that look on her.

Celeb stylist Chris McMillan wrote about the impact of Faye Dunaway’s hair in the Allure magazine I was flipping through at the nail salon the other day. I totally agree. Faye’s movie hairstyles were hugely influential and inspirational. Of course, her most famous look is the sleek bob she wore in the 1976 classic Bonnie & Clyde. It’s very similar to many of the smooth bobs we see on a million celebs, but it always reminds me of my all-time favorite bob on Nicole Richie.

Although, Nicole’s look is updated with longer bangs, of course.

In The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), Faye wore an elaborately wrapped updo centered on the very top of her head. Very chic.

And perhaps inspirational for Madonna during her Blonde Ambition tour in the ’90s? Who knows. Her arms are certainly inspirational.

You kinda can’t tell because she’s all in bed with a super young Jack Nicholson, but in 1974’s Chinatown, Faye had real deal finger waves. Have any of you ever done them or had them done? Modified finger ways have shown up on lots of celebs over the years…

Lace and fabric nails have been everywhere lately–on the Spring runways at Reem Acra and the Fall runway at Tracy Reese.

Blake Lively wore a red lace at a Fashion’s Night Out event–love that color.

And Jennifer Lopez wore Parisian lace at the VMAs. Celebrity manicurist Elle from Barielle is to thank for popularizing this nail look. She’s responsible for both Jennifer Lopez and Blake Lively’s nails, as well as the nails at Reem Acra.

How To: Lace Nails

• Measure and trim the lace to fit each fingernail. The lace must be trimmed to fit each nail perfectly.
• Apply a layer of top coat.
• Place the layer of lace onto the top coat while it is still wet.
• Press the lace into place with an orangewood stick or toothpick.
• Let the top coat and lace dry.
• Finish with two coats of top coat.

According to retail analysts at MySupermarket.co.uk, hair straighteners have taken the place of hair dryers in consumer shopping baskets. While straighteners were once seen as a luxury item, they are now must-buys, along with lip gloss, small bottles of mineral water and liquid soap. These updates reflect the changing spending habits on the list of goods and services used to measure changes in prices and the official inflation rate.

Now that hair straighteners are part of everyday life, thanks to celebs like Jennifer Aniston, the Office for National Statistics has decided hair straighteners should replace hair dryers in the cost of living basket. Do you agree? Is your straightener more important than your hair dryer?

Tomorrow night Shear Genius is on! Psyched? Here’s the lowdown on the new episode: It’s Diva Day at the salon as the stylists must create looks from the 60’s and 70’s for VIP clients attending an album release party. But why the specific look? It was requested by the Woman of the Hour herself–Grammy winning artist Estelle! But when one of the contestants notices that another is copying her Diana Ross inspired look, will the judges notice? And will the stylists stun Estelle in a positive way or in a not so positive way? Hmm… You’re going to have to tune in to find out. But in the meantime, take a sneak peak at tomorrow night’s episode!

This is OPI Red My Fortune Cookie. It’s from the OPI Hong Kong collections, which I am in love with. All the colors are so cool. See that girl in the mirror? That’s me wearing a T-shirt I bought in the Junior’s department at Kohl’s for $4.99. What if this becomes one of those style blogs? That would be weird. (p.s. I promise to take better pictures in the future.)

This is my dog. He’s annoyed because I’m taking blurry pictures of my nails instead of taking him for a walk.

He’s practicing mind control in this picture. The other day, Ebbie got a shampoo and a haircut at Tailwashers in Franklin Village, which by the way, is an awesome place. Ebbie is picky about his grooming, but they are so good to him and do an excellent job. Plus, when he comes home, he smells ridiculously good–like blueberries! And the smell lasts for days. What ever doggie shampoo they use there is the bomb; I should call and ask them. Actually, I am calling. … OK, the woman at Tailwashers said the great smell might have been from the blueberry facial they gave him! (Um. My dog gets facials. I live in LA.)

They use South Bark’s “3 in 1″ Blueberry Facial. It’s a face wash, body shampoo, and overall brightener all in one, and it can be used on dogs or cats. (Um, if I had used this on my cat, she would have moved out.)  I think the shampoo they used on Ebbie was Aloe Bluing Shampoo with Optical Brightener from Nature’s Specialty, which is suppose to brighten and enhance the color of your pet’s coat. It contains Aloe Vera and Panthenol to help soothe and add moisture to the skin and coat. Aw, my spoiled little mutt…
