Keira Knightley debuted her new angled bob at the at the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week. When I first saw Keira’s cut, it totally took me back to college when I had the same cut. As did two out of three girls in my large liberal arts college. Obviously, Keira looks about a trillion times better with the hairstyle, but I can’t help but see that dated cut when I look at her–shorter in the back (or ever shaved!) and longer in the front. And as my girl Kelly from Gouldylox Reviews pointed out when we were discussing this on twitter yesterday, it might be the zig-zag part that’s pushing it over the edge.
I do like Keira with short hair (she looked amazing with a pixie) but I am not totally sold on this bob. I don’t like how it hits right at her jawline:
… But mainly I’m just having flashbacks of my own bad haircut. Please fashion gods, don’t let this haircut turn into a trend again! It is not flattering on most people, even if it makes Keira looks phenomenal, as always.
What do you guys think of Keira’s new cut? Yay or Nay??

wat ever she does she always looks pretty
I do think it’s the part that is messing this up. I also need to see the back before passing final judgment. I am digging the mod/flapper/bobs and bangs that I’m seeing and if she added some bangs, this might be a little more spot on for me. Needless to say, I had this cut on and off for a long time and loved it. Along with my impossibly heavy clunky, thick rubber soled black shoes.
Gouldylox: I forgot to say that, but was totally thinking that too! I NEED to see the back!!
Andrea: very true.
Valerie,
A request :
I would like to see artist of hair models with med wavy/thick dark hair( latinos) So i can have more ideas to do my hair too
Andrea: ok! Will do.
Keira makes this cut look great, but she has ridiculous bone structure, so she’d look good in anything. Us mere mortals, maybe not. It really depends on the face. A long, graceful neck wouldn’t hurt, either.
i like keira with shorter hair, and like this style on her. But you are so right about this hairstyle not being right for everyone. When my hair hits right at my jawline i look like i have a gigantic face
Thanks
Oh my god, I have a huge girl crush on Keira, she’s GORGEOUS no matter what she does (or almost; I hated the very highlighted hair she sported for some time). I mean, look at these eyes and these eyebrows. And this skin. Sigh.
.
I also love bobs in general, and this one is no exception. I don’t see any problem with the jaw line. I think your bad haircut from the past is haunting you
I think I’ll go with yay. Love the fresh look of a tailored cut. Wouldn’t this trend be better than all those miles and miles of yicky extensions?
I’m not in love with the style, but I give her lots of credit for cutting her hair!
Actually, major YES on that Heidi. Good point!!
gi: I think you’re right about it being my issue.
And Keira is gorgeous no matter what–I totally agree with that. Her face = flawless.
Gidget: I think it makes anyone with even a hint of a round face look SUPER round when the hair stops right at the jaw line.
I think it looks lovely and also easy to style, which is always a bonus.
suzybeth_h: depends on your hair type, but this style actually requires some work to get the smooth, sleek look. At least a little time spent with your hair dryer and some good blowout techniques.
She looks very sharp and extremely fresh.
