If you watch The Real Housewives of New York City then you’re use to Kelly Bensimon being a complete whack job. She lives in her own special crazyland where Gummi Worms are a fruit, breakdowns are breakthroughs, and feelings are so 1979. The latest Bensimonism: “Everyone is obsessed with my hair,” she told People at a polo match to benefit Nacho Figueras’s Work to Ride Charity this weekend. “They always want to touch it.” (Probably people who are trying to restrain you.)
Actually, I think she’s right! Here’s photographic proof of Dora the Explorer totally trying to touch Kelly Bensimon’s hair! Or getting ready to smack her across the face. One or the other.
Her colorist, Bradley Irion, explained to People how he gives Kelly her color: “We bumped up her base with a dark blonde, light brown, and then we hand painted highlights into the hair. We glaze that with a warm honey tone. It’s a natural gloss that bumps up the shine and enriches the highlights, so everything kind of blends together.”
Kelly can’t praise Irion’s work herself enough: “When I met Bradley, he said, your hair has to be natural. So he literally colored my base and let my natural hair color come through. People are constantly coming up to me and touching my hair. That’s what Bradley gave me. . . this touchable, gorgeous hair that’s real.” And according to Kelly. “He even cuts my dog’s hair.”
