I have had HotHeads Hair Extensions in for 2 years now and love them. I use Biologe shampoo and conditioner and have them moved up every 7 weeks when I color my roots. I take very good care them so I only get new ones once a year. Towards the end of the year they are a thinner but still more hair than I have of my own. I have about 30 of them in my hair all the time. I flat iron them with protectant on them everyday. I am allergic to metal so cant wear the others. These are so VERY addicting. I dont care for the company itself, they aren’t very stylist friendly (heard from several sylists) but the extensions themselves are quite nice for me. I have very thin hair and like long hair, so these make it happen. I only use silk infusion on the ends, but all sorts of products in the rest of my hair. Hope this helps someone.

I’ve had Hot Heads in for two years now. I loved them… until now. The last time I got them moved up, a lot of hair came out and now my hair is way thinner than I had before. I’m actually embarrassed to take them out now. I started with two whole packs to start and now I’m down to 1/3 of a pack, trying to wean myself off and so it doesn’t look so obvious. I’m not in the US right now, so when I get home I’m taking them out and gonna get a short cut. It’s like a drug, you love it, but it’s so bad for you. I would love to keep them, but my hair is just going to get thinner and thinner until I stop. Oh and by the way, they last forever if you use the right products. I keep the same hair in for about 8 months to a year, always looks silky and smooth. I use Bumble and Bumble quenching line and of course Moraccan Oil. I flat iron and curl it, and it still looks healthy and new, totally depends on the products you use. The person that was mad probably used a sulfur based shampoo… death to extensions.

For those who did hotheads– what was your experience like after you took them out? did you have hair loss or damage? I have fine hair and I am afraid I will lose hair after each replacement if proceed with this service- I am debating on getting them.

I had these hair extensions installed at Studio 600 in Toronto by Roger Dukeshire. Awesome! I am so happy. they were in expensive compared to other methods I had done before and it was so fast. I was there for about 1 hour! they are virtualy invisible and I dont feel weighed down like other weaves I have had in the past! thanks so much!

Hi, I am at a bit of a dilema as a stylist. I ordered from another country had to heat the tapes before putting in. some have slid out after being washed, cant figure out why. Then i added hot head retapes and dont think its helping> any ideas what the problem is

I have had Hot Heads hair extensions for about 4 months now and I have loved them. However, after the first few weeks, I noticed a lot of split ends. I mean…a lot. My stylist thought it was really weird and she called the company. They essentially said we would have to take them out, mail them to the company, and they would evaluate them and decide whether or not to replace them. The company gave the impression that they were not going to be cooperative, so we didn’t bother mailing them in. Anyway, they look fantastic (minus the split ends). I have only had one extension fall out, but that was after 7 weeks of wearing them. I usually have them moved up every 6 weeks and I haven’t noticed any significant damage to my hair. I paid $750 for a full head of long hair. It seemed a little pricey to me, but I love them…so they have been worth it. I have thick hair, so the purpose of the extensions was to add length.

Hi Lisa: Thanks for the info! I can’t believe people spend $1,200 on extensions every 3 months–that’s a lot. I agree that Hotheads Extensions are definitely less expensive.

I have had HotHeads for quite some time now (4 months) and I have been VERY happy with them. I have fine hair and have the extensions re-attached every 2 months or so because my hair grows exceptionally fast. I have had no damage or bald spots. You have to care for extensions just like to do your real hair. I know a lot of girls who are pretty rough with their hair. I now use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. I also use a touch of leave in conditioner half way down my hair to the ends. Keep in mind ALL extensions shed just like your real hair. If the actual pieces fall out then I would question the technique of your stylist or you could be putting conditioner on the adhesives. Not good!
These extensions are also A LOT cheaper that the fused extensions!!!! My friends spend at least $1200 to get theirs done every 3 months. On top of that they have to get new hair every time. That’s CRAZY expensive.

I love my hot head extentions they are so easy to maintain and to style. They are VERY PRICEY tho, so if your not looking to spend a arm and a leg then I suggest that you choose a alternate route. Mine last just around two and a half mnths each round. The expensive part is reordering them! But the cost is worth it cuz they are great and do not leave a lump where they lay and I have very fine hair!
SO WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY
