Pepper recently took a few minutes to answer some questions about warm weather hair trends, celeb hair, and more from Hair On The Brain. Check it out!
Hair On The Brain: Spring is finally here and that means a lots of people are itching to make changes to their hair. What are your clients asking for?
Pepper Pastor: Clients are asking for an update. Everyone is BORED! I like to gauge how comfortable each person is with change. We are all different. Some want it all cut off, and others simply want more layers. Right now my clients love taking risks, and summer is the perfect time for that! I recommend assessing what areas of your hair are bugging you and making your first change there. Is your fringe too long? Is your red color getting dull? Is the crown too flat?
HOTB: What will be the major hair trends this summer?
Pepper: Color! Let’s stop being so afraid of it! Richer browns, brighter blondes, and more vibrant reds. We are seeing a reemergence of noticeable hair color, not just the “natural” thing. My favorite and freshest method right now is what I call “melt the color”. These are highlights that show on the bottom of the hair, so the ends are light and the roots slightly deeper. When it comes to cuts, heavy fringes are still popular. I am enjoying heavy layers in long hair–slightly feather looking. Yes, feathered!
HOTB: What celebrity hair do you love?
After the break, what celeb would Pepper like to makeover?
HOTB: What celeb do you wish would pop up in your chair so you could give her a makeover?
Pepper: Mena Suvari. I just don’t get it!
HOTB: What hair product could you not live without?
Pepper: I can’t get through the summer without Phillip B’s Katira. It is a lightweight, leave-in conditioning mask that you put in wet or dry hair before going out in the sun. It miraculously conditions your hair while you are at the beach or lying out.
Thanks, Pepper! And New York girls, be sure to stop by Pepper Pastor Salon.
