RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream

rareminerals-active-triple-treatment-eye-creamI’m always looking for a good eye cream, which is no easy task when your skin is as sensitive as mine. I was a little nervous to try RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream–when there are too many words in the name, I get scared I’m going to have an allergic reaction. So far so good though, and I’ve been using it for about three weeks now.

Here’s the deal: RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream is designed to minimize the look of fine lines, restore firmness, reduce puffiness, and brighten skin around the eye area. It’s infused with ActiveSoil Complex, which according to RareMinerals, uses mineral electrolytes and marine peptides to rejuvenate skin around the eyes instantly and over time. The eye cream is also ophthalmologist- and dermatologist-tested and formulated without the nasty stuff, like parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, and triclosan.

My Take: As I said, I was happy this didn’t irritate the skin around my eyes, although it’s worth noting that I have been using it in the evening only because I’m so prone to eczema in the eye area and wanted to be careful. RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment didn’t irritate my skin, though, so I will probably bump up my use to morning and night. I notice a tightening/firming feeling when I apply the cream, which is kind of nice. It goes on smoothly and sinks in very fast. It smells like nothing, which is very important in an eye cream. I didn’t notice a significant improvement in the lines around my eyes, but I don’t have too many yet. My major issue is dark circles, but I’ve never used a product that really seems to help with that! (Aside from concealer.) Overall, I’m enjoying this product and will continue using it. If you try it, let me know what ou think! It’s available at Sephora, BareEscentuals, Ulta and select Nordstrom locations. Price: $28.00 / 0.5 oz

UPDATE: This stuff ended up irritating the skin under my eyes at about the one month mark. Bummer. On to yet another eye cream. :(
