Look who cut off all her hair? Salma Hayek! She hit the red carpet for the Ein Herz fuer Kinder charity gala in Berlin, Germany last week with a sleek new bob.
I’m about to be picky, so prepare yourself. Salma is gorgeous, and of course she looks lovely here, but I’m not crazy about this cut. Her hair is super thick and I think it hangs too heavy in the front by her face, as evident in the first pic. It looks like they cut it all one length. I can see it’s shaped more in the back from this side view shot, but the front needs to have layers, so there is movement and more shape to the cut.
This haircut could be super cute. And I do like the length on her because she’s so petite, and all that long hair she use to have was a little overwhelming. I just think this bob needs to be tweaked a little. But what do you guys think?

The first thing I thought when I saw the pictures is that her cut looks way too heavy! I think the length is great but I agree is looks like it needs to be lightened up (weight, not colour).

This is sort of a lob, that awkward length. My hair is about that length…between a bob and a decent medium length and I can’t imagine why anyone would choose to go straight to the in-between stage. It looks like she’s growing out a bob, but she’s not. It’s too heavy and sort of like a wall in front of her pretty face. Maybe it would look better with more waves or layers or something. Overall look = meh
Tracy: I agree, it’s totally at lob territory. If it was shorter and thinned out at the ends and well-shaped, it would look really cute on her, I think. Maybe once her stylist hacked it off, Salma freaked out? And wouldn’t let him cut anymore off. That’s the only excuse I can think of. Or it’s a bad wig.
Geez, people! I just had to have the same thing done to mine due to never having it trimmed, having a chemical straightener applied and having highlights twice all in one year. Once that was done, it was clear I had to take the ends off so it wouldn’t further damage what healthy hair I had left. If you look at her ends, they look somewhat dry. I am betting the same thing was true with her and she didn’t WANT to go super short, she probably didn’t even want to go this short but she had to. I think it looks cute and I am sure she is praying it grows back fast.
Fuhgetabouddit: she could always throw in extensions if she didn’t want the bob though…
