I was looking around for photos of Diane Kruger today and realized that she really knows how to rock an updo. Fancy hair is tricky. I hate when it looks too stiff and overly done, you know? I like it to be a little edgy and cool, and not at all stuffy or (god forbid) prom-y. Diane really nails it.
I got a little scoop on how Ms Kruger achieves her ultra cool updos from her hairstylist, Richard Marin. He explained the four simple steps to re-create her look.
- Dry hair with head titled forward using an ionic dryer (like a Remington Professional Dryer) for maximum shine and volume.
- Part hair to side. Using a one inch barrel curling iron, section hair in pieces that are 1½ inches by 3 inches wide. Curl in one direction for a uniform wave pattern, and let curls cool to set.
- Brush hair out in a downward motion. Keep brush close to scalp, and finger waves will form. Brush waves to one side, and secure in side ponytail.
- Roll hair into smooth bun with the ends poking out, and pin into place. Finish with a touch of hairspray and bit of shine spray. To glam it up like Diane, add a sparkly hair accessory.
The Remington Professional line includes a dryer, one-inch flat iron and two-inch flat iron. They are available exclusively at Walmart; $50 each.

Love her! She has great taste in men (Hi Pacey!) and she’s gorgeous.
Chris, she is really, really beautiful. But I have to say Pacey bugs me on Fringe. :(
I kinda think they are an odd couple?
