Amber Rose: Diet Coke & Neosporin

Amber-Rose

Do you ever notice that the really gorgeous girls always have the wackest beauty advice? It’s because they really don’t have to do anything to be so beautiful. Genetics, baby, it all comes down to genetics! Amber Rose proves this fact when she spoke to Elle magazine about her beauty routine.

About her gorgeous skin, Amber says she’s bad about drinking water and sleeping: “I’m always traveling, and it sounds crazy but I really only find time to sleep on planes… And I drink a lot of Diet Coke, too,” she says. “I’m really bad about the water thing.” However, Amber does cop to moisturizing. “I’ve always been good about moisturizing, Amber admits. “Every morning and every night, everyday. What I do, and this sounds kind of weird, but I buy these pint-size containers of raw African shea butter from street vendors, I microwave it, and after I shower, I rub it everywhere. Even on my scalp and face. Nothing works better. And it’s cheap!

For cleanser, Amber says she just uses Dove soap. “I’ve never really tried anything else. I’ve always felt that when you use too many products or try too many new things, you’re just piling a lot of unnatural, unnecessary stress on your face. I try to keep it simple.”

And for blemishes? Her favored spot treatment is just a little Neosporin. “Just a little dab at night and it’s usually gone by morning,” Amber says. But Amber admits that she doesn’t have to reach for the Neosporin too often. “I’m pretty blessed when it comes to clear skin. I owe that to being Cape Verdian. My whole family has great skin. My grandfather is 80 but doesn’t look a day over 50. And we all love the sun, too, so blessed is an understatement!

For makeup, Amber says her one regular splurge is YSL [Teint Resist] foundation. “I love it, because it goes on so smooth and light, but still covers up everything I need it to cover up.” She also loves M.A.C Lip Glass in Pink Lemonade, but her favorite lipstick is from Mona Lisa in Hot Pink #14. “It’s only $1.99!”
