Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner kicked off their promotional tour for New Moon in Brazil yesterday (November 1). I guess this means Boy and Girl Taylor will be separated for a while. Sad!
Slightly more important than teenlovedramarama, Kristen Stewart’s Joan Jett mullet is slowly growing out. I kinda give the girl props for not sewing in some extensions. … I mean, I guess I do? I don’t know. I’m not loving this cut on her. But Kristen always does her own thing.
Of the Twilight films amazing success, Kristen told press, “I think it’s because it is much more than a vampire story. The whole world can compare with the characters in one way or another. Okay they are vampires and werewolves, but they are basically characters. They have human feelings. After all, it’s a love story. Assigned to the most extreme possible, but it is a love story. We use the plot as a metaphor for that.”
Hmm. I think Kristen needs to go to college. And I don’t mean that as a diss at all. Seriously. I just think she’s the kind of person who should be learning at this age and not just acting. Does that make sense? Like… Lindsay Lohan? Does not strike me as a bookish person. But Kristen I could totally see on a college campus freaking out over what she just learned in her feminist lit class.
Sigh. College was awesome. Plus, it isn’t a career killer. Natalie Portman did it!

*sigh* Kristen Stewart perplexes me. She’s a really good actress (in projects she did before “Twilight”), but there’s something about her that kind of irritates me. I get the anti-Hollywood, “I’m not going to spend a fortune to look pretty for you people” thing, but it often comes across, to me at least, like she just doesn’t give a s**t about anything. Maybe she’s always nervous or shy, and she puts all her energy into her work so there’s nothing left for interviews, awards shows and the red carpet. But the minute I see her, I always feel *meh* with a touch of annoyance. I could be over-thinking this, too.
But I did really like her in “The Land of Women”, and with long blond hair.
Chris, the weird thing is I don’t think I’ve actually seen Kristen Stewart act in one single thing. My opinion on her is based solely on brief interviews I’ve read and when I’ve seen her on awards shows and stuff–and you know how well that goes. I agree though, she should act like she cares a bit because you know a million girls would love to be where she is…
