Cobra Starship fans got a surprise Tuesday night (Nov. 24) at in NYC’s Nokia Theater when Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester (nice bangs!) joined the band onstage to sing Good Girls Go Bad. Here is what Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta told OK! about the experience:
It was awesome. It was a monumental show for us, because playing in New York is always awesome… but more importantly, Leighton sang with us on Good Girls Go Bad. And since that song has been recorded it went top-five, sold a million copies… We’ve never performed it together. Never ever ever. Today was the first time we did that. The girl can really sing. She’s really fucking cool. And the thing is, we’re kinda like bad boy rock dudes and she’s a real-life celebrity. And like I don’t give a fuck. So sometimes those two worlds clash together and they don’t mesh well. But with her it meshed perfectly. Like she was still very refined and very cool, but she has a sense of humor and jokes around with us and has a great time.
I once saw him during this music festival and he’s one of the nicest guys I’ve met in my life.A lot of the concert goers(including myself) became fans of cobra starship just because we like him.
actually, my sis downloaded their album but after he said he couldn’t pay for his rent in this interview, we went out and buy the CDs.
so can you really be considered a bad boy rock dude when you sing in public with someone from gossip girl, and also recently appeared on The City not only not performing as a band but at some restaurant get together with olivia palermo and elle magazine people? idk…..
I go and forth between thinking Cobra Starship is a cool name for a rock band, and thinking it sounds like a prop from “GI Joe”. Ambivalent, much?
