Katie Holmes looks fab on the cover of the November issue of Elle Magazine. I’m loving her sexy layered bob. I have a feeling that picture is going to be brought into many a stylist as haircut inspiration! Also, I dig her sly smile. Whatchu hiding, Katie? So mysterious.
In the interview, Katie talks about her family, saying, “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”
Katie has really become a fashion and hair icon these days. Check out how her hairstyles have changed since her Dawson’s Creek days to the classy beauty she is today.
Whoa, I’m having a Joey Potter flashback… Katie loved the wavy updo in 2005.
Katie made this bob with bangs super popular is 2007/08. Which version is your fav?

the bobs are just soo cute and sassy, i know she’s been partial over the years to long, loose, and beachy, but short suits her face so nicely (and neck and shoulders). she’s never looked prettier than that line-up of bobs, and kudos to achieving so much variety with short hair! throw in that 50s style ponytail too, cause she looks gorg and her skin is radiant in that pic (and nooot orange)! btw, so glad that the bob trend is over now so that a bob can just be a normal hairstyle again, and you won’t be seeing it on every trendy noggin.
the shaggy elle hair is kinda what i’ve been trying to achieve (but not with quite as much success as katie.. yet!) it’s a good length for her, too. she’s looking pretty sexy, and not so much dead-in-the-eyes.
those sideswept bangs on the middle bob are so subtly pretty, and it’s always nice to be able to switch it up a bit with the bangs, but I can never get mine to do that sideways curl. catherine zeta jones does it sometimes too (a bit more of a pronounced curl), and it’s a total mystery to me! any tips???? my hairdresser tried once to literally curl them sideways, but we both quickly realized that the result was.. well it was so far off, and just generally heinous. (to clarify, i don’t mean long sideswept “bangs” like nicole richie, i mean bang-length bangs that curl to one side, but lay flat against the forehead)

To answer your question Kat, if your hair stylist has layered your short hair, all you need to do in the morning is run texturising palmade through it to achieve the look you want. i use Bead Head mastermind, but almost every hair brand carries their own version.
