By now you’ve certainly heard about Mischa Barton’s recent flip out and subsequent hospitalization. Everyone was wondering if Mischa would be out of the hospital in time to begin filming her new show, The Beautiful Life, which starts filming this Friday.
Well, her publicist Craig Schneider said on Monday that Barton was “out of the hospital,” continuing to improve, and planned on reporting to work on set when production started.
And a couple of days ago she was spotted at the JFK Airport in New York, so it looks like things are on track for Mischa to begin work on the show on Friday… But doesn’t this all seem a little soon for someone who was just on a placed under a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold only a couple of weeks ago?
According to eonline, her publicist had no comment on the root of the problem, i.e. why exactly the former O.C. star was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, or on whether doctors opted to keep Barton hospitalized past the requisite 72 hours of the original evaluation period.
A source who spoke to Barton just hours before she was hospitalized told E! News that the starlet was acting increasingly erratic.
This feels like Britney all over again, and I wish the people around Mischa would recognize that she needs more than a few days in a psych ward before she’s ready to be back at work. She obviously needs some real help.
