Fade Out

nails

More statement nails! First we had half-moon manicures and now “faded five”.

I love this look because of its subtlety. If this manicure were done with five totally different colors, I would hate it. But this gradient effect is terrific.

And good news for those wanting to recreate this look without buying five different bottles of nails polish.

Creative Nail Design (now known as CND) will be revamping its color line for Fall 2009 and including five new clear-based nail color shades that are meant to be applied on top or underneath a high-pigment polish, which creates a whole new rainbow of hues called, “The Effects”.

CND will also launch 50 new color polishes  and “Super Matte”, a quick dry topcoat.

According to the company, nearly 5,000 color combinations are possible when combining Effects with CND’s polish range. This will be perfect for the “faded five” trend, since you will be able to use the clear-based Effects polishes to change your favorite shade from dark to light across your fingers.
The polishes, topcoats and bases will be sold in Ulta and Beauty Brand, as well as salons and spas.
I am dying to try this! As soon as it hits the stores, I think I will. What do you guys think? Is this a nail trend you would try out?
