I don’t know if it’s just me, but it took me a good five minutes to figure out how to open this lip gloss. I kept trying to open it at the top, where the little hook is, but I couldn’t get the sucker open! Then I tried opening it at the base, but I pulled the entire thing off. I thought I broke it, but I was able to pop it back on. Lip gloss should NOT be this difficult! I can’t understand why they didn’t just make a regular, double-ended gloss.
Anyway, once I finally got it open, I realized you can apply color from either side or mix the two. Kind of cute, I guess. But both colors I tried (Swanky and Trendy) were so lackluster that it didn’t really add up to a whole lot. They resulted in a nondescript frosty looking gloss on my lips.
That said, the glosses are super soft, non-sticky and moisturizing. They smell kind of like cake batter, which isn’t too bad, but a little too sweet for my taste. And while pleasant to apply, the gloss wears off too quickly and without enough color payoff. And, major points off for the packaging, which is confusing and overly gimmicky.
Since this retails for $13.00, I would say you can get a much better gloss for that price elsewhere.
