One of my favorite drugstore makeup brands is Physicians Formula. So far every product of theirs that I’ve tried, I’ve really liked. Here’s my latest haul!
I really like this bronzer overall. I’m glad I got the medium/dark shade, even though I am fair, because I’ve read online that the lighter color is really light. The bronzer has a hint of sparkle to it, which I am a fan of, and it doesn’t turn me orangey, which I’m also a fan of. The compact itself is beautiful. It comes with a really nice, large mirror and a brush, which is a little stiff but will work in a pinch.
This is my all-time favorite Physicians Formula makeup item to date. I’ve tried LOTS of eye shadows over the years, many from top of the line department store companies, and this little compact really holds its own with the best. The light colored shadows give a shear wash of color and brighten the eye. I use a shadow brush for the lighter colors and an angled brush to line my lids with the darker shadows. It works great wet or dry and lasts–even through a very sweaty workout! Of course, I ditched the sponge brush, but that’s nothing new.
This Blush/Highlighter is running a close second for my all-time favorite Physicians Formula product. Plain blush tends to read a little flat on my skin tone, so I love blushes with highlighted glow. But it’s difficult to find one that isn’t frosty. This product manages to leave my skin shimmery and illuminated. I sweep this on after the bronzer and I’m good to go.
OK, so I have to be 100% honest here. I don’t buy into any topical product that says it’s going to do the work of surgery or needles. Face cream to replace botox? Cellulite lotion that’ll make lipo obsolete? Lipstick that plumps without painful injections? Just not buying it… Well, maybe buying it because even though those products might not replace invasive procedures, they still do good things on a smaller scale–reduces fine lines, smooths some skin temporarily and make my lips look pretty. That’s exactly what Plump Potion in Raspberry Potion does. The color is a gorgeous, wearable berry shade. The lipstick goes on smooth and shiny and lasts fairly well. But, sorry Lisa Rinna-wannabes, no plumping here.
