Physicians Formula Organic Wear

I’ve needed to update my bronzer and blush routine since summer is well on its way in LA, but I haven’t really want to drop a lot of cash. (I know, pretty much everyone can relate to that right now!) So I recently tried Physicians Formula Organic wear 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush and 100% Natural Origin Blush.

Physicians Formula has been around for years and has a pretty solid reputation in the drugstore makeup market, and they just started a Organic wear line last year.

According to Physicians Formula CEO Ingrid Jackel, “Women today expect ‘good for you’ ingredients in products. They are looking for truly natural formulas that are not only good for you and environmentally-conscious, but also glam. With Organic wear, they don’t need to choose between chic, glamorous makeup and being green. Finally, they can have both.”

Joanna Schlip, Physicians Formula Celebrity Makeup Artist adds, “Living a green lifestyle is very important in Hollywood – my clients care about the ingredients that go on their faces. Organic wear makes it easy for me to use products that they can feel good about wearing, but also be confident posing on the red carpet.”

Schlip uses the Organic wear line on celebrities including Christina Applegate, Eva Longoria and Laura Linney.

(And now I use it!)

The new Organic wear makeup features ECOCERT organic certification and is 100% free of harsh chemicals, parabens and synthetic preservatives. And not only is Organic wear natural on the inside, its packaging, from components to outer cartons, is recyclable too.

This is all very cool. I’m trying to do more recycling and to be more “green” whenever possible. It’s especially important to use less chemicals in makeup and skincare since our skin is an organ and soaks all that stuff up.

At this point you’re probably all like: Green, recycle, organic, blah, blah, blah, zzzzz.

Get to the makeup review already!

The 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush could be used individually, but I layered the two shades together for a lovely, natural looking hue. It gave me a healthy tan glow–not too dark and nothing shimmery, which I liked. And it stays put too! I went for a long hike with my dog after my first use, and it didn’t budge.

The 100% Natural Origin Blush is available in six shades. I tried Rosy Organics; it’s a soft pink shade. It’s nothing too dramatic, but good for a casual makeup day. The color is buildable and leaves you with a nice natural glow.

Ok, I saved the best for last. Both products have the most fab packaging. Not only are they recyclable, they include a little flip bottom that holds a mirror and a natural goat hair brush. I’m always dying for a mirror in my makeup bag, so I will definitely be taking these guys with me on the go!
