I am becoming increasingly hooked on Jonathan Product hair products. I use their Prep Spray every single time I wash my hair (it detangles and has UVA/UVB/UVC filters). When I blow dry, I always use the Straightening Lotion. It smoothes and straightens without weighing my hair down. Plus, it smells great.
AND NOW, I’ve had the chance to try their new Green Rootine Dry Shampoo Brush On Hair Powder.
I happen to LOVE dry shampoo, so I was so excited to try this! Here are the deets:
It’s a hair powder that cleanses and refreshes the hair and scalp without the use of water. Talc and aluminum hydroxide absorb oil, dirt pollutants and product build-up. Rids the scalp of impurities and will create volume at the root. The portable brush makes applying powder simple and convenient. What better way to extend the life of a blowout!
- Absorbs oil, dirt, product build-up & pollutants from hair and scalp
- Increases volume at the root
- Cleanses and refreshes hair and scalp
- Extends the life of a blowout. Great for in between washings.
- All natural ingredients

- For all hair types
I agree on all fronts. And it was really easy to use with the handy little brush. Much better than trying to rub it into your hair line with your fingers like with other dry shampoos. And I didn’t have to reapply it, which I ALWAYS have to do with others, either. And it comes in a shade for either light or dark hair. I am in love! Yay, Jonathan Product. He really does make great products!
Also, my boyfriend is going to try out the Green Rootine Pure Paste, so check back soon for a review on that.

We are 2 peas in a pod! I LOVE the Prep Spray and have been using it almost obsessively for just the scent alone, and the dry shampoo? THE BOMB. Have to hear his take on the Paste! I haven’t had a chance to use it yet.
Ooh, I know. It’s all so great. I am really impressed with all his products. R loved the Paste too. He said it was like key lime pie! yum. I have to write up that review…
So is this officially your new dry shampoo? I have medium blonde colored hair (light brown/dark blonde natural hair). It’s mostly straight, and fine, and even though my hair dresser says I have a lot of it, it still gets greasy and weighed down. I could always go for more body! And I recently realized that after buying a new, hotter straightener, I’ve dried out & damaged my hair. Because of that, as well as my love of sleeping in, and my dedication to be enviro-friendly, I’m eager to explore the world of dry shampoo. I like that this product is more natural.
The second day after washing is a crapshoot for me.. sometimes my hair looks acceptible, but often looks like, well, unwashed bedhead by the end of the day, or sooner! I’d really like to steer clear of pure white product.. even though my hair is light, no one wants a little whiteness showing through if they miss a spot. And this product for blondes looks slightly tinted, beige or ecru perhaps. Do you like it better than Blandi? And is the brush applicator really as ornery as some customer reviews on Sephora say?
Hey Kat! I have to say, the brush bugs me too. I have this urge to break the container and just put the powder into the little Oscar Blandi squirt bottle. But, I think overall I like Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo better. A major bonus with that product is the lemon scent. I love that! And even though you have to apply it with your fingers, you get the hang of it. Although it is “white” if you apply it sparingly enough, it blends into your hair and doesn’t leave too much of a white tint on the hair.
