I love, love, love Kate Winslet and was very pleased she won for The Reader last night. But I wasn’t exactly sure how I felt about her hair. She looked gorgeous–very Grace Kelly classic beauty, but the hair was so sculpted and stiff. But still. It was a look.
Kate always has such an infectious energy about her. I can’t help but love anything she does. Also, those earrings! I’m a sucker for gorgeous earrings.
Kate’s hair was done by stylist Renato Campora. He told LA Times, “I wanted the hair to be sleek, classy and modern and for the style to fit the neckline of the dress and create a little volume around her face.”
Campora’s steps to achieving Winslet’s Oscar hair: “I started on wet hair and worked in Frederic Fekkai All Day Density Styling Whip. I then blew-dry the hair with a round brush for smoothness, but still with volume underneath. I used a 1-inch curling iron to make waves and then let it sit for 20 minutes. I used Frederic Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Creme to brush through the hair and then rolled the hair underneath and pinned it with long bobby pins. Finally I sprayed sheer hairspray over the hair to hold it.”
