I just spotted this super cute headband in the latest issue of InStyle. It’s from Jennifer Behr’s line of hair accessories.
Jennifer’s collection is made by hand in her studio in Brooklyn, and has been worn by Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and by Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (Blair!).
She also has a beautiful collection of bridal headpieces.
You can find her creations at Bergdorf Goodman or can order them online.

does anyone know what kind of knot this is?
The name of the headband is “Sailor’s Knot”, but it doesn’t really look like one, so I’m not sure.
there are a gagillion kinds of boating knots. I don’t think “sailor’s knot” is an actual name of a knot- i think it was simplified so it sounded catchier.
The Sailor’s Knot is also called The Anchor Bend, Carrick Bend and Full Carrick Bend. Here is how to do it: http://www.tollesburysc.co.uk/Knots/Carrick_bend.htm
I asked about it on twitter and someone said it looks like a variation on a monkey fist, possibly with elements of a bowline. ??? Crazy names! Hope that helps you though.
I asked- they said it was a modified and elaborated figure-of-eight, but I’m still trying to figure out how to go from the figure-of-eight. Thanks!
Madeline, I’m so curious, are you trying to make one of these yourself? That would be so cool. Report back!
